Plan ahead, winter IS coming!

Aerial Tree Services works year-round. In fact, we take great pride that we can offer Calgary tree care services during the beautiful, but frosty, winter months.

Winter is actually a good time to prune trees as most plants go dormant, meaning that they are no longer actively growing during this period. Here are a few good reasons why it’s good to prune during dormancy:

  • Pruning when all the leaves have fallen away it makes it easier to see the true tree shape and the best places to prune to improve the health and safety of the trees
  • Dormant pruning also causes less stress or shock to the trees as it gives trees time to heal from the pruning cuts allowing for better recovery and hearty new growth in the spring
  • Pruning in the winter reduces susceptibility to, and the spread of, disease since parasites, insects and bacteria are also dormant making it less likely that disease is transmitted during pruning

We do work for both residential and commercial properties, handling everything from simple trimming and pruning to tree removal. To learn more about our winter services or to arrange an appointment give us a shout at 403-293-3416. We’d be happy to provide a FREE estimate.
